WATCH: CFDC chairman Joey Lina launches 'Child's first 1000 days of life' manual

The National Project Chairman of Children’s First 1,000 Days Coalition (CFDC), lawyer and former senator Joey Lina, launched recently his "Child's first 1000 days of life" manual at Sequioa Hotel in Quezon City.

The “1,000 days of life” refers to the period of a child’s life, spanning the nine months in the womb starting from conception to the first 24 months, which is the critical window of opportunity to promote health and development and prevent malnutrition and its lifelong consequences.

Joining Lina at the event was Ronald de Los Santos, president of The Fraternal Order of Eagles - Philippine Eagles Inc (TFOE-PE) which is the primary Non-Government Organization (NGO) Implementer  in support of Republic Act 11148 or "Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Magnanay Act of 2018."

The primary aim of the First 1000 Days (F1KD) program is to provide comprehensive, sustainable strategies and approaches to address health and nutrition problems of newborns, infants and young children, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent females, as well as the multifactorial issues that negatively affect their development integrating plans of the government to end hunger, improve health and nutrition, and reduce malnutrition.

In order to implement this, TFOE-PE shall adopt a barangay and conduct situational analysis and social preparation;  plan and raise funds; identify goods and services to be integrated; deliver goods and services; monitor and evaluate; and report status and progress to National Office for further assessment and improved coordination.
