‘Bornean Elephants - A Journey Through A Living Landscape’ is a story of co-existence and what good conservation can look like. The documentary takes the perspective of Bornean elephants in Sabah as they traverse through the landscape and show how these gentle giants can coexist with humans amidst different challenges that both they and their human counterpart face.

The documentary highlights the Living Landscapes Approach as a model of innovative nature-based solutions to protect biodiversity in balance with economic development. It explores the dynamics between people and elephants, highlighting the challenges for both as they share the same space and ultimately showing that co-existence is sustainable and beneficial in the long term.

“WWF-Malaysia thanks Global Trekker for their important support in building public awareness of Bornean elephant conservation. Our Bornean elephants are threatened by habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict. We encourage everyone to visit wwf.org.my/elephant to learn more about how you can support our elephant conservation efforts. These include: Establishing wildlife corridors to connect fragmented habitats, promoting coexistence between humans and wildlife, as well as collaborating with government and non-government agencies on wildlife surveys, research and capacity building for protected area management,” said Sophia Lim, Executive Director/ CEO of WWF-Malaysia.

“Global Trekker is honoured to partner with WWF-Malaysia to amplify the voices for the conservation of Bornean elephants, an endangered species. We are committed to using our platform to raise awareness and inspire action to protect these magnificent creatures. We look forward to working together to make a real difference for Bornean elephants and their future.” said Beatrice Lee, CEO of Rock Entertainment Holdings.
