Committed to elevating its service delivery to be at par with international standards, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) conducted a study visit to the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID) Motion Picture Division in Taipei, Taiwan.

The BAMID is under Taiwan's Ministry of Culture, it undertakes missions previously performed by the former Government Information Office of the Executive Yuan to provide assistance for the development of Taiwan’s film, radio & TV, and popular music industries.

BAMID Director Ms. Hsiu-yu Yang shared Taiwan's film classification practices and discussed complaints mechanisms in place to effectively address viewer concerns, among others. Director Yang was also joined by BAMID Section Chief Ms. Yu-zhen Zhou, Assistant Ms. Ying-Tzu Lai, and Interpreter Mr. Leonard Chien.

The MTRCB for its part, shared the Board's best practices in film classification, underscoring the importance of MTRCB ratings to empower parents and supervising adults to make informed choices not only for themselves but for their families as well.
