Quezon City Councilor Alfred Vargas has got netizens gushing over one of his latest online posts—-a sweet birthday greeting to his first-born, Alexandra.
“You made me a dad 16 years ago, exactly a day before my birthday,” he wrote. “Since then, you have been my constant reminder that life is beautiful, meaningful, and that being a father is the greatest thing in the world. I'm so proud of the kind, strong, smart, thoughtful and loving young woman you're becoming.”
Like a lot of fathers’ sentiment, Alfred vowed to Alexandra that “no matter how grown-up you get, you'll always be my little girl.”
The public servant has sound advice to Alexandra that will serve her well not only at this point, but beyond.
“As you enter this new chapter, always keep God at the center of your life. Trust Him. Pray regularly. And let your faith guide you through every goal, challenge, and decision.”
Alfred encouraged her daughter to dream big but at the same time, to “stat grounded.”
“Always remember that Dad will always be here for you. I am mighty proud of you!” he said. “I love you endlessly, Anak. Happy 16th!”
The councilor used the hashtags #VargasNaPagibig and #alexandramilanvargas in his post.
As of writing, the post has garnered more than 500 comments, mostly commenting on Alexandra’s beauty and just generally wishing her to have a blast on her special day.
“Grabe ang beauty hati ng mama at papa nya Ganda ng combination,” commented one netizen.
“Happiest birthday Alex! Dream big, don’t fail your Dad for his aspirations for you,” said another.
“Happy Sweet Sixteen to your beautiful Alexandria. God bless her with many more birthdays to celebrate. Cheers!” yet another wrote.
