HOTDOG was formed by the brothers Dennis and Rene Garcia in 1973 with Mon Torralba, Tito del Rosario, Roy Diaz de Rivera, Lorrie Lustre, Jess Garcia and girl singer Ella del Rosario. The band’s first album Unang Kagat yielded two major hits, Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko and Pers Lab. These two songs mixed English and Filipino lyrics set against a western pop melody and marked the beginning of what became the Manila Sound. Almost sixty years later, HOTDOG music remains both classic and popular.
Manila, Manila, the HOTDOG Tribute Concert is a presentation of Newport World Resorts in association with Front Row Theatre Management in a VAA Live and Full House Theater Company Collaboration.
