'Hell University' opens Feb. 6 on Viva One

If you think you’ve already experienced hell at some point in your school life, wait ‘til you see what transpires in “Hell University”.

This February Viva One proudly presents “Hell University” as the series that will take thrill to a new level, co-produced by Studio Viva and WEBTOON Productions.

Originally a Wattpad webnovel written by KnightInBlack, “Hell University” has reached 182 million reads to date. In 2017 and 2018, it topped the bestsellers lists of Psicom Publishing which published it as a paperback novel. With over three million followers across Wattpad and social media, KnightInBlack’s 17 published stories on Wattpad have accumulated over 330 million reads.

In Hell University, there’s no tuition fee and meals are free, but it’s also a secret school where no government laws apply. Violence is normalized that there’s actually an allotted time for Bloody Night: from 7PM ‘til 5AM, even murder is allowed.

Hell University is hidden from the world, but six adventurous friends somehow end up in it and even get themselves enrolled. Once inside, they get caught between two deadly rival gangs: the Black Blood Gang and the Devil God Warriors, whose long-standing war is rooted in the school’s dark past.

Heart Ryan (Da Pers Family, Ang Mutya ng Section E) plays Zein, the feisty and brave, though a bit reckless girl whom her friends look up to as their leader. She will do everything to protect them. While fighting to stay alive, she crosses paths with the student council president called “Supremo.”

Zeke Polina (Ang Mutya ng Section E) is the Supremo, real name: Ace Craige. A man of few words with a strong commanding power. Everyone knows that a warning from him must be taken seriously or they could consider themselves as good as dead.

Playing Zein’s friends are Andre Yllana as Matt who has a secret crush on Zein; Gabbi Ejercito as Mia; Derick Ong as Dave, Matt’s best friend, and Jastine Lim as Vanessa who is smart and very outspoken. She and Jerome like each other. The series also introduces young showbiz royalties Gabbi Ejercito and Jac Abellana. Gabbi plays Mia, the softest and sweetest in the group, but can fight and stand up for her friends when push comes to shove; while Jac plays Jerome, the playful and dependable friend of the group.

Fresh from the success of Avenues of the Diamond, Aubrey Caraan and Lance Carr are back. Lance Carr is Raze, the leader of the Devil God Warriors. He always wears a mask, but doesn’t conceal his striking red right eye. His real identity will shock the whole school. Aubrey Caraan plays the role of Samantha, a mysterious student who has a huge connection behind what’s happening in the school.

Keagan De Jesus plays Nazzer, the nerdy and innocent-looking leader of the Black Blood Gang. He even speaks in a charming manner, but it’s all just a façade to his dangerous persona.

Jemima Rivera plays Nicky, the only girl in Black Blood Gang, thus considered as their queen.

During the cast reveal last November, director Bobby Bonifacio, Jr. proudly shared that the actors were carefully chosen after auditions and go-sees, and they are all working together to make sure that the characters from the pages come fully alive on the screen.

On February 6, “Hell University” opens on Viva One. Be there when curiosity leads to danger. See how romance can bloom in the midst of terror. Discover the root of all the evil that’s going on. Come inside this one hell of a place where the most important thing to learn is how to survive.
