Can any good come out of a global internet storage in a time when we've become so reliant on information technology? Heavens, yes---if we'd all just "Rekonek."
That is the premise of the upcoming MMFF feel-good movie starred in and produced by Gerald Santos.
Set 10 days before Christmas, "Rekonek" sees six families coping with and then thriving in a situation that leads to them experiencing true Pinoy Christmas.
The actor is proud of "Rekonek" story most of all.
It also has Gloria Diaz, Bella Padilla, Andrea Brillantes, Charlie Dizon, the Legaspi family (Zoren Legaspi, Carmina Villaroel, Mavy and Cassey Legaspi), Kokoy de Santos, Angel Guardian, Alexa Miro, Kelvin Miranda, Raf Pineda, and Jaypee Tibayan in the cast.
“You could have a beautiful cast like this, pero kung hindi maganda story mo o hindu malinaw, it won’t work, so that's the number one priority for me," he pointed out. "Naniniwala ako sa proyektong ito."
"Rekonek" sees the Legaspi family working on the same film---a treat to their fans.
It's also Andrea Brillantes' first time in a comedic role.
Gerald added the only holiday-themed-NMFF-movie this year also underscores the importance of reconnecting with yourself especially now.
"We've become so busy posting and trying to get validation from our audience. Nakakalimutan natin yung sarili natin and the people around us.”
Directed by Jade Castro, "Rekonek" opens in theaters on Dec. 25.
