"If a crime happens but no one is affected and no one knows about it, what would we do? Would we report it or speak up?"
Those are two of several questions director Lino Cayetano posed to attendees about his latest film "Salvageland" just seen by attendees few days before it opened in cinemas last Nov. 26.
The story of "Salvageland" is straightforward and simple enough: In a fictional town near Metro Manila against the volcanic landscape of Mount Pinatubo, a veteran police officer and his rookie son must defend their station when a crime syndicate target seeks sanctuary with them. The scenario forces the family duo into a violent confrontation that will challenge their relationship and survival skills.
The neo-Western thriller is Lino's directorial comeback. Written by Shuga Praico, the lead stars are Richard Gomez, Mon Confiado and Elijah Canlas.
"Salvageland is produced by Rein Entertainment and distributed by Viva Films.
