November 29 is red-letter day for the ongoing Cinegoma Film Festival for it holds by then its Final Big Screening and Awards Night at Quezon City University.
The 6th edition sees 25 movies by students, 15 by professional filmmakers, two movies made using AI technology and five more dubbed RK Exclusive offerings.
During the opening ceremony held at Quezon City Museum inside Quezon Memorial Circle, festival director and RK Rubber CEO/Founder Xavier Cortez said the film genres this year range from documentary to drama as well as experimental work.
"Bawat isa ay kumukuha ng mga natatanging pananaw na hinubog ng mga lokal na boses," he said in his keynote addtess. "May paparating na pakikipagtulungan mula sa mga paaralan, grupo ng kabataan, at lokal na organisasyon para patuloy na palawakin ang festival."
The festival.opened with a parade in the premises followed by ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Cortez. After lunch, the screening marathon commenced as well as workshops, panel talks and trainings for newbie creators.
The theme this year is "May Kuwento ang Bawat Laban."
Later, Cinegoma embarks on its very first campus tour, particularly in Manila and Q.C.
All events are free for filmmakers and audiences.
