| QC Councilor Alfred Vargas |
If you only knew then what you know now, what note to self would you write?
Quezon City councilor Alfred Vargas once again touched the hearts of netizens with a post on his socials that dispensed timeless truths---and timely reminders especially with current events---that could actually apply to anyone.
Titled "Para Sa Batang Ako," the moving message serves as caption to a photo of Albert facing and smiling at a child (a photo of himself using AI) as they bathe in the cast of sunlight in what seems to be past midday as if to symbolize what stage the councilor is in life.
"Maging matapang ka sa pagharap sa mga hamon ng buhay. Huwag kang matakot magkamali dahil doon ka matututo," he began, steady and strong. "Huwag kang matakot sa sasabihin ng iba basta’t alam mo kung sino ka talaga at wala kang inaapakan na iba."
He then talked about the essence of success and its measure.
"Lagi mong tandaan na ang tunay na tagumpay ay hindi nasusukat sa pera o posisyon, kundi sa naitulong mo sa kapwa at kung ikaw ba ay nakapagdala ng magandang pagbabago sa buhay ng iba."
One of the most touching parts came when he talked about parents and how they should be cherished---before it's too late.
"Mahalin mo ang pamilya mo, lalo na ang iyong Nanay at Tatay. Hindi sila forever nandiyan," he reminded. "Every moment counts."
Albert extends the love outside his inner sphere.
"Galangin mo ang lahat ng tao, anuman ang kanilang estado, at ipaglaban mo ang tama kahit mahirap."
The councilor ended with encouraging words that could cut through the dark of night, to those who might be losing their way or losing hope.
"Huwag mong kalimutan ang pangarap mo, isang araw, magagamit mo ang boses at talento mo para matulungan ang iba na maabot din nila ang kanilang mga pangarap," said he, like Jesus to a child.

The post ended by giving back all the glory to Whom it is forever due.
"Gawin mo ang lahat Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam… All for the greater glory of God," Albert said.

The public servant's post was hashtagged with "#parasabatangako #senti #grateful #throwback."
The #parasabatangako is trending on social media. Serving like digital time machine, AI puts a photo of an adult and his younger self in one frame as if they're talking to one another. These kinds of posts serve as sort of self-reflection.
