| Lani Misalucha |
Much has been written about Asia's Nightingale Lani Misalucha across four decades of her career in music.
From recording to concerts, her voice---a marriage of fire and ice---and mastery of vocal technique and intuition have made her, and deservingly so, one of the greatest singers in Philippine history.
She recently staged "Still Lani" at The Theater at Solaire. It was her first solo concert after the pandemic and after suffering significant hearing loss and problems with her balance due to a serious medical concern.
Verdict: Lani is still Lani. She is forever iconic diva.
As seen in these photos, Lani at the concett...
...gave the audience drama and top-notch production in terms of song choices and visuals...
...delivered all her hits as well as covers that shaped her vocal artistry...
...generously shared the stage with young artists as Ben & Ben who all dropped everything the moment Lani invited them as guest performers. After all, it was chance of a lifetime to be on the same marquee with someone truly world-class...
...sang accompanied by an orchestra under the baton of Toma Cayabyab. Not only is it more expensive to get an orchestra but it takes a special disciple to sing with one but, of course, Lani fit in perfectly...
...also did upbeat numbers from Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra" to an '80s medleys. Lani is one of few vocalists versatile enough to be comfortable both in slow and upbeat songs---and even across genres from pop and R&B to rock and classical...
...was an inspiration to everyone. She is living proof that you can't put a good singer down and that being well-loved and respected in your field make all the difference. Lani is still Lani!
