Sam Verzosa continues to gain traction, win trust of Manilenyos

Sam Verzosa motorcade

Manila mayor candidate Sam Verzosa led on March 28 an eight-hour motorcade across six districts in the city that drew at least 100,000 people.

Sam said in an interview. "Lahat naka-smile----o umiiyak.

By nightfall, he was on Dapitan St. corner Recto Avenue where Manila districts 1, 2 and 3 intersect. Attendees were estimated at 50,000 pax.

Surprisingly, though, while Sam could've turned that event into star-studded affair given his strong ties in show business---Sam owns Frontrow endorsed by top Pinoy and international celebrities, his girlfriend is actress Rhian Ramos and he, himself, hosts tv show "Dear SV"---the only star in sight at the sortie was Andrew E.

Asked to comment on latest survey results that show him neck-to-neck with another mayoralty bet, Sam said pointing at the crowd, "Eto ang tunay na survey."

"Araw-araw, libo-libong tao ang pumupunta at makikita yan sa live videos, live photos---walang edit!" he said. "Kahit speech ko, walang edit. It's raw footage. Hindi mo lang ako maririnig, kundi mararamdaman. Because I am all about authenticity."

And get this: Despite Sam being most visible to the people, especially in the last 10 months during which he gave away everything from free medicine and scholarship to hundreds of kabuhayan showcase and pricey ayuda, the "Dear SV" host had only just started to reach out and be felt.

"Susuyurin ko ang Maynila, all 896 baranggays in the next 45 days."

Sam likes going around Manila and being with the Manilenyos, saying he has grown to love them even more.

"Parang girlfriend yan eh. Pag lagi mong nakakasama, tumitindi ang pagmamahal," he said.

That's because Sam is confident his coffers will continue to runneth over anyway.

"Once natikman mo na ang success, madali na lang i-repeat because you already know what it takes," he said. "Discipline, focus, creativity, consistency, hard work. Uulitin mo lang mga yon."

A self-made man with a rags-to-riches story, Sam claims to be a problem solver with the highest plans for the city he grew in and loves with all his heart.

Turning thoughtful, Sam believes destiny is at work for him, especially on May 12.

It's clear to Sam what he must do for the people;  so utterly simple, true study in selflessness.
