Cloud 7: Next big thing in burgeoning P-pop universe

Kairo, Egypt, Migz, PJ, Fian, Lukas and Johann of P-pop group Cloud 7 could hardly believe it that they were able to fill up Music Museum to the rafters during their first concert dubbed "Nasa Cloud 7 Ako" last Feb. 28.

In a short interview after the show, the boys admitted they were a bit apprehensive over attendance as the venue is considered sort of a litmus test for artists if they have made it to the big time or not.

But not only did the Rainbows (name of Cloud 7 fans) pull through for the boys, but based on their wild reception, it's clear the group is the next big thing in the burgeoning P-pop universe currently led by SB19 and BINI.

Presented by Richard HiƱola's Best Magazine and produced by RDH Entertainment and Virgie Bermundo, "Nasa Cloud 7 Ako" saw the boys perform all of their singles ("Tara Na," "Tayo Na," "Silipin Ang Mundo," "Louder" and the upcoming "Bara-Bara") and then some.

There were also numbers that showcased specific sub-groupings of the boys or even a  solo number by Egypt then Lukas. We asked the boys why this is so and they said it was to underscore that while they are a group, each member brings specifics to the table.

"We believe in team work where everyone does his best," Cloud 7 said.

Asked why they call their fans Rainbows, Cloud 7 said they (the fans) "color our skies, our lives.'

"We always feel happy and youthful because of them," the group said.

"Nasa Cloud 7 Ako" is a benefit show with proceeds going to children with chronic diseases and health awareness for the youth.

Richard took the opportunity mid-show to honor some of the recipients of the 2nd Philippine Young Achievers Awards.

Among them were "Miss Saigon" alumna Ima Castro, Miss Queen Humanity International 2023 Marianne Bermundo (also a main performer at the concert), upcoming pop artists Jeri Violago and Aleck Calata, Drei Arias, Cye Soriano, Yancy de Vega (guest performer at the show) and international designer Virgie Bermundo.
