Sam Verzosa |
Sam Verzosa recently awarded 90 scholarship grants and raffled off at least 70 kabuhayan showcase to Manilenyos in light of the anniversary of his tv show "Dear SV."
The event was held at the Manuel L. Quezon University in Manila during which he also sponsored a feeding program and medical mission.
The initiative falls under Sam's KKK or "Kalusugan, Kaalaman at Kabuhayan" program.
"Hanggang blessed ako, tutulong ako," said Sam, co-owner of several multi-national businesses including Front Row. "Dati ko na tong ginagawa at hindi ako titigil."
Because he is running for mayor in Manila, "Dear SV" will go on hiatus for one season until the election is over in compliance with the law.
In its place by March will be a tv magazine show to be hosted by Sam's girlfriend, Rhian Ramos.
While the "Dear SV" host is happy he is making headway in the surveys, his main priority remains serving the people and delivering on his promises to help those in need.
Or as he had always put it, to give the Manilenyos what they deserve.
Regarding his KKK program, Sam believes it has a domino effect.
Speaking to the scholars, he expressed hope that they would pay it forward to the community once they finish school, seeing that once upon a time, they too received help.
As for the kabuhayan component of his program, Sam thinks it is not enough that he gives out businesses but that the beneficiaries are also armed with knowledge on how to turn it into a success.
Health is wealth that's why Sam goes around with his mobile clinics, giving away medicine and sponsoring health check-ups and consultations for free.
All these things Sam has been doing nationwide for years now----many times sans media coverage.
No wonder this guy is considered heaven-sent by many.
He is, after all, "sam" kind of wonderful.
