Sam Verzosa hits back at critics

Sam Verzosa

Congressman Sam Verzosa, who is running for mayor in the city of Manila, more than welcomes engaging in debate with his critics and political foes "anytime,"  as he is sure doing so would clear his name from their allegations.

"Kapag wala kang ginagawang masama at walang tinatago, wala kang kinatatakutan," he said in an interview during his rice distribution activity at Barrio Obrero Elementary School last Oct. 19 with at least 2,100 beneficiaries.

The "Dear SV" host admitted the fake news they perpetuate get to him sometimes as these are sly ways of character assassionation.

"Ako na ang tumutulong, ako pa ang gusto nilang mag-explain? Pinapapangit nila ang imahe ko. At tao lang ako na nasasaktan. Kahit aso na sipain at saktan mo, mangangagat," he said to that effect.

One of the points these critics use against him is the culture of giving Sam stands by and for. They claim that if he wins, he'll just recover or recoup everything he invested on people during his campaign.

Note that Sam---a self-made multi-millionaire----has been giving people high-quality rice, branded canned goods, fastfood fare and even livelihood packages from his own pocket.

"Bliness tayo ng Panginoong Hesukristo kaya kung anuman ang ibinigay Niya sa atin, shine-share lang natin," was his simple explanation on why he gives the way he does. "At matagal na akong tumutulong sa ganitong paraan---at nationwide at sa first month pa lang ng lock-in noong pandemic. Documented naman lahat yan online."

Sam has also been holding medical missions daily. Every morning, his mobile clinic and mobile pharmacy roam the city of Manila giving away free medicine and conducting free medical diagnostics including ultrasound and X-rays.

Should he win, Sam promises to give two thousand pesos monthly allowance to senior citizens of his city, among other things.

We touched on reports that Manila is said to have so much debt now that the amount "will take 20 years to pay off."

Supposedly, the money was used as "ayuda" for people---- though Sam is of the opinion that there are more poor people in Manila than before.

"Sila mag-explain niyan sa tao."
