Team 'Guilty' makes movie a pleasure to watch

It took a village to raise the child "Guilty Pleasure."

One of the last few movies approved by the late iconic movie producer Lily Monteverde of Regal Entertainment, all elements came together to come up with work whose sum is greater than its parts.

What we see in the teaser of the movie is truly just the tip of the iceberg. If you've gotten the impression like I did that "Guilty Pleasure" is more erotica than legal drama, then prepare to be surprised big time.

It's not just the cast led by Lovi Poe, Jameson Blake and JM de Guzman who got meaty roles, but even the new ones namely Dustin Yu, Angelica Lao and Sarah Edwatds. Why, even Soliman Cruz, who appears in the movie briefly, will be remembered because, like the rest, his part is pivotal---and he did it so well!

The story has enough twist and turns to keep tje viewer inrested, with pacing just right to build momentum. Even the music, which we found cheesy when it was being played in the lobby prior the advancred screening, suddenly shone once put in the context of the scene it was used.

What we saw was the R-16 without cuts version of "Guilty Pleasure" and there are things in the movie that would prove shocking to fans used to seeing Lovi, JM and Jameson in a certain way. Indeed, they just keep growing actors mirrored by their brave, intelligent career choices, including this movie.

We also see that director Connie Macatuno invested personally in that some of Lovi's power dresses, as well as her practical and pragmatic personally, in the movie are apples that did not fall far from her tree.

We hope people would watch "Guilty Pleasure" currently in cinemas nationwide, so more producers will feel encouraged to bankroll similarly deserving projects in the future. That includes Lovi, herself, being that "Guilty Pleasure" is the maiden venture of her very own C'est Lovi Productions.

Congrats, Team "Guilty!"
