WATCH: Kelvin Miranda asked if he and Kira could become an item after 'Chances Are, You And I'

Kelvin Miranda and Kira Balinger

Although it's public knowledge that Kelvin Miranda has broken up with Roselle Vytiaco, it doesn't necessarily mean he and leading lady Kira Balinger, who was tagged as third party, will end up together---neither as predicted nor speculated.

The actor said so at the recent media conference of "Chances Are, You And I."

"Para linawin po ang isyu, wala pong ligawan na  nangyari," he said. "Hindi po naging kami (ni Kira)."

Offstage, after the general press conference, Kelvin was asked if it's possible that something more would blossom between them now that he's single again and that they're done shooting the movie.

"Di natin masabi...sinong may piso? I-toss coin natin," he said.

On a serious note, he did address the question about "what ifs" which was the premise used by those shipping him and Kira as future item.

"Minsan nilalatag na sa yo ang pagkakataon pero pag di natin pinili, wala din," he said to that effect. "Di ako naniniwala sa chanCes lang---you have to make a choice para may mangyari."

In the movie, Kelvin plays Sol Sikat, a young man burdened with a brain tumor and a bleak outlook on life. Haunted by loss and impending mortality, Sol lives in a state of weary resignation.

Kira brings to life Gabi Sinag, Sol’s opposite – a vibrant soul who radiates optimism despite her tumor diagnosis. Gabi’s spirit refuses to be extinguished by the reality of her illness, as she chases every chance for joy and dreams of a normal life.

"Chances Are You and I" was chosen as one of the Spotlight Entries this May 25 to 26 at the Jinseo Arigato Film Festival in Japan. Produced by Pocket Media Productions Inc. with Happy Infinite Productions and distributed by Regal Entertainment Inc, the film will open in local cinemas on May 29.

The film is directed by Catherine Camarillo. Also on the cast are Jin Ho Bae, Tart Carlos, Anne Feo, Gian Magdangal and Al Tantay.
