Do senior citizens lead uneventful lives? Certainly not those in the upcoming movie "Senior Moments."

Directed by Neal "Buboy" Tan under A&S Productions, he presented at a recent press conference the story of each of the lead characters to be played by "senior" actors themselves, Tessie Tomas (73-years-old), Nova Villa (78) and Noel Trinidad (82). These will be told during a reunion among the three.

"Yung character ni Nova sa movie, tumanda ng nag-iisa kasi di nakapagasawa," Neal began. "Madaming dumaang 'Pepe' sa buhay niya pero naging mailap sa kanya ang true love. Tapos meron si Nova na pamangkin na ginagatasan siya, at dalawang kaibigan na equally pasaway..."

Noel plays a retired policeman whose children have seemingly "forgotten" him since  becoming busy raising families of their own. However,  there is one daughter who stayed and she looks after him including taking him to the doctor, etc.

Like Noel's, the children of Tessie's character have flown the coop. Still, empty nest syndrome isn't total with one daughter remaining by her side...but for how long?

"May ka long-distance love affair pala at tatangayin sa Amerika," Neal said. "Maiiwan ang matanda sa piling ng katulong na mas matanda pa sa kanya..."

Why do a movie about senior citizens?

"Dahil senior na din ako," Neal said. "Actually second 'senior' movie ko ba to. Before this one starring Eddie Garcia, Boots Anson Roa and German Moreno..."

With this interesting movie ahead of them, the actors of "Senior Moments" promise to give it their best.

"Wag kayong magalala kami ang bahala ni Tessie dito," Nova said to the producer, adding in jest, "Kahit may hirap sa amin makamemorize, nabibingi at uring-uring----gagalingan namin!"

Turning serious, Tessie said she hopes for "Senior Moments" to reach a lot of people.

“For them to gain more understanding regarding seniors," she said. "Kasi, I feel, like, there’s a lack of understanding about us  generally speaking sa ating society..."
