'Miss Saigon' Asian Tour Cast |
Since its premiere in Manila, the production has garnered exceptional recognition from local press outlets. GMA News applauds the show as “a modern masterpiece in musical theater,” with TheaterFansMani
Leading up to the opening, the stars of the production shared their thoughts about the legacy of MISS SAIGON with Filipinos. "I know there have been many interpretations of Kim. I feel a sense of duty to do justice to my character and the story I tell. But also to be true to myself and honest about how I feel, how Kim would feel in that moment," said Abigail Adriano during the show’s media event.
Despite the admitted pressure, the cast received high praise from the press, with SPOT.ph describing them as "nothing short of stellar," and Tatler Philippines stating, "[W]hat sets it apart is the cast’s bravery in portraying the characters’ plight with high emotion and sustained levels of tension and control." The Daily Tribuneparticularly praised Adriano and Seann Miley Moore, noting, "Her rendition of 'I’d Give My Life for You,' as she cradles her son Tam in her arms, is so heartfelt and heart-wrenching that it feels like hearing it for the first time," and Miley Moore, who "creates this shrewd, funny, and at times sympathetic character with his impressive vocal quality and range, in tandem with his seemingly boundless energy on stage."
The MISS SAIGON Asia Tour continues at The Theatre at Solaire with no further extensions and extremely limited tickets.
