Jona has a new home---one of the most coveted in the industry, in fact.
The prized singer on Tuesday signed with Viva to co-manage with her long-time manager Arlene Meyer. The contract not only covers recording but movies, theater, concerts, more.
In an interview, the "Help Me Get Over You" and "Maghihintay Ako" hitmaker gushed over this development in her nearly two-decades old career. She acknowledged Viva's esteemed stature, its extensive catalogue and the legenday starmaker abilities of the company. Among Viva's biggest artists are Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo.
If that happens, it will likely be an original song. Jona said that while she loves doing covers---"reimagined" songs is how she puts it---for which she is also known for, there's nothing like doing an original song as far as expressing herself as artist goes.
This is also why she wants to give acting another go. Note that Jona has had acting assignments before but because of her success as singer, many tend to forget just how much of a multi-faceted talent she is.
Jona wants to try theater acting too. She revealed being asked few months back to audition for off-Broadway production of "Miss Saigon," but she had to decline due to her hectic schedule at the time.
