Sylvia Sanchez thinks like a mother even when it comes to her love for the Philippine movie industry.

In a recent interview, the multi-awarded actress reveals she has gone into distributing critically acclaimed international movies to the Philippines in a bid to whet the appetite of the public to return to the cinemas.

"Aminin naman natin na hindi na tinatao ang mga sinehan ngayon kagaya noong bago mag pandemic," she said. "So, unti-unti, by showing them na may mga pelikulang worth it pagkagastusan at pagkaabalahan na panoodin  sa sinehan, ay masasanay ulit tayo na magbalik sinehan."

She will bring here via her very own Nathan Studios starting Oct. 11 the Japanese movie, "Monster."

Her venture partner, iconic actress Lorna Tolentino, recalled how she was convinced it's the right movie for them.

"Sinama ako ni Sylvia sa Cannes Fillm Festival at dun namin nakita na ang haba ng pila sa mga gustong i-distribute ang 'Monster' sa kani-kanilang bansa," Lorna said. "We're sure the Filipinos would love this movie, napakaganda niya."

Directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, "Monster" stars Sakura Andō as a mother who confronts a teacher after noticing disturbing changes in her son's behavior. Monster had its world premiere at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on 17 May 2023, where it competed for the Palme d'Or and was honored with the Queer Palm as well as the Best Screenplay award.
