Innervoices returns to recording scene with new vocalist, three new songs

Innervoices

Innervoices started in 1992 as college buddies with common passion in music.  They came from mere hanging out playing instruments and writing lyrics and melodies until they got lucky to score gigs. 

Inspired by their different influences from the 80s, pop rock tunes, and contemporary classics, the band became regulars at difference bars in the 90s while covering all genre as well as playing their own originals. 

While juggling both their professional and musical careers, the band came up with their own album and wrote their own songs 2014.  With the rightful direction from the renowned record producer and hitmaker Vehnee Saturno, their debut album ‘FIND A WAY’, released via Universal Records became a hit. One of the tracks in the said album titled PAANO even won for them  the Best Performance by a New Group Recording Artist at the 28th AWIT AWARDS.

After a brief hiatus from the entertainment scene, INNERVOICES reorganized and made a comeback in 2022 with a new lead singer and a number of new members.  They have come up with new materials namely; Isasayaw Kita; Anghel; and Hari all of which will be launched at 19 East on September 24, 2023.  Guest artists include the amazing ESANG DE TORRES of The Voice Kids and two upcoming bands namely THE SONNETS and 25 Abbey. 

The INNERVOICES is also regular in top bars and events place such as Hard Rock Café Makati, Hard Rock Café Manila, Bar IX, 19 East, Fin & Claw.  They also have marque shows coming up. On November 25, 2023 they will be part of the biggest 80s Concert Party at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila entitled “New Wave Invasion” with top international bands such as Flocks of Seagulls, The Church, Lotus Eaters, and Cactus World News. They also have a back to back show with Side at 19 East on November 13, 2023.

THE SONGS

"Isasayaw Kita"

ISASAYAW KITA is a powerful ballad that speaks about the immense pain of losing someone.   It was composed by lead vocalist Angelo Miguel in the aftermath of his partner’s miscarriage which resulted to the loss of his would be daughter.  The words describe what would have been the life together of the father and daughter had the latter survived the miscarriage.  It is a truly haunting music which is sure to affect the listeners and cause them to feel one’s emptiness and pain caused by such loss. 

"Anghel"

The song, aptly called ANGHEL is a soulful rendition of a song written about a person who has shown unconditional love even if the one to whom it was given was unworthy of such affection.  Written and composed by the band’s friend and contemporary Edward Mitra, ANGHEL is a ballad with very minimal musical instruments hence highlighting the vocal performance and the message of the song.

"Hari"

HARI is a song also written by Edward Mitra during the pandemic period.  The song’s tribal beat gives it an exciting tone to the song as it speaks about hope, perseverance, and resilience and that despite of the challenges ahead, we are all assured that our destiny is in our hands.
