'Asian Persuasion' PH screenings announced

International movie "Asian Persuasion," which marks KC Concepcion's showbiz comeback after seven years in hiatus, will definitely be shown in the Philippines so her fans here can watch it on the silver screen.

At the press conference tendered recently at Manila House, director Jhett Tolentino said the premiere night is on Nov. 27 at Cinemas 1 and 2 of SM Megamall with some of the other actors to be flown in from the US. There will also be screenings in Cebu on Nov. 29, then in Iloilo on Dec. 1. As of writing, screening schedules are being arranged at UP Film Center and in Pampanga from Dec. 5. 

But of course the movie will also be shown abroad and will do the rounds of international film festivals including Soho International Film Festival.

Aside from KC, "Asian Persuasion" stars Dante Basco, Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Geneva Carr, Celia Au, Scarlett Sher and Jax Bacani. Also featured are Rachel Alejandro, Jason Amerling, Apl.de.ap, Paul Aquino, Cynthia Casasola, Yam Concepcion, Marc dela Cruz, Fe delos Reyes, Imani Hanson, Joyce Keokhan, Devin Ilaw, Tony Labrusca, Janice Sonia Lee, Mairin Lee, Rex Navarrete, Renee Rogoff, Ami Sheth, Nacho Tambunting, and Calista Wu.

As of the press statement, the "Asian Persuasion" synopsis reads: A frustrated chef, Mickey, is finally divorced from his successful fashion executive wife, Avery, of 15 years. Following a poorly negotiated divorce settlement, he is saddled with alimony payments that he simply cannot afford. To avoid paying, he comes up with a convoluted scheme, with the help of his best friend Caspian, to get Avery remarried by creating a fake online dating profile for her. He finds Lee, a potential suitor from the dating site, and coaches Lee on how to make Avery fall for him. Everything goes smoothly until Mickey's plot backfires on him. He rushes to clean up his act to win Avery back. He might be too late.
