Chavit Singson opens BBQ Chicken in Robinsons Magnolia

Governor Chavit Singson (in glasses) leads ribbon-cutting ceremony with other VIPs

Governor Chavit Singson opened over the weekend the best Korean Fried Chicken restaurant BBQ Chicken on the third floor of Robinson's Magnolia in Quezon City.

A man of few words to begin with, he nevertheless only had to say that the chicken was featured on Netflix's "Crash Landing On You," (also "Goblin" and "Monarch"), and that it's endorsed by BTS  for us to get highly interested in checking it out.

So, we did. And we can say that even without the KDrama series and Kpop reference, this chicken restaurants brings Korean Fried Chicken to the next level, if not the highest level. Do you notice how many Korean fried chicken in the Philippines somehow tastes the same? Well, what BBQ Chicken offers is all their own, even down to the drinks and rice.

Some of the variants of the world-famous Korean Fried Chicken brand

The star of the show, however, is the chicken. These come in several variants, some slightly spicy,  including Sweet Soy, Red Spicy, Ma-Ra Flavored, Gangnam-Style Chicken, Cheesling Chicken, Secret Chicken, Hot Spicy Chicken, and Crunch Butter---all crunchy but never greasy. They also have sea food Tteokbokki, pickled radish, salad, bibimbap, Dalgona coffee, gosh, Yakult smoothie float, just so many!

We learned that bb.q Chicken is short for Best of the Best Quality. The first branch in the Philippines opened in BGC last year and it was reported that another is being eyed at Okada Manila.

In all, there are over 5, 500 bb.q chicken in 57 countries, and counting!

By the way, anyone who orders chicken at BBQ Chicken will have to wait for about 10 minutes before they get the goodies. This is because the chicken are only cooked upon order. No wonder you get them piping hot and really delicious.

The opening of the branch inside Robinson's Magnolia was so full that extra tables were brought out. It seems Korean-crazy Filipinos have been waiting for BBQ Chicken to come and, well, it's finally here. Enjoy!
