'Love You Long Time' stars set the record straight

Long gone are the days when lead stars of movies pretend they have fallen for each other while shooting or that there's a chance for them to do so in order to make fans "kilig" enough to check out their offering.

At the press conference of "Love You Long Time," an official entry to the Summer Metro Manila Film Festival 2023, held last week at Kamuning Bakery in Quezon City, leading lady Eisel Serrano said that while she finds leading man Carlo Aquino lovable, friendship is all they have, no more and no less.

Carlo echoed the sentiment, adding that for so long now, it's perfectly fine to just be "professional" with your leading lady till the project wraps up.

Then again, you can't blame some people for thinking (hoping?) something romantic brews between actors paired in movies. After all, countless of  "reel" couples ended up having real romantic relationships after doing a project together, especially a romantic movie.

Well, "Love You Long Time" is exactly that---a love story with a twist. And based on the movie trailer, Carlo and Eisel have chemistry that could make anyone swoon.

Here's how the story goes: A young romance screenwriter suffers her biggest heartbreak causing her to hit a brick wall with her writing until she meets and falls in love with a mysterious guy from the past through an old push-to-talk phone.
Uly (Carlo Aquino) and Ikay (Eisel Serrano) “cross paths” through their walkie-talkies, as they share the same frequency.

Over time, they decided to meet up.

Will love blossoms for the two? Will they ever meet in the first place?

Directed by JP Habac, “Love You Long Time” under Studio Three Sixty PH opens in cinemas on Black Saturday, April 8.

The movie is set in Baguio City & Atok, Benguet, province. "Sa Susunod Na Habang Buhay" by Ben&Ben provides the beautiful music to this romantic movie.
Also attending the mediacon were Ana Abad Santos and Meann Espinosa.
