"Zsazsa Zaturnnah the Musical… 'Yun Lang!" is All Set for March 17 - April 2 Performances

Are you ready to watch the latest musical theater treat from Ateneo Blue Repertory (blueREP)?


Presented by Rizal Library, and Co-Presented by Areté, Zsazsa Zaturnnah the Musical... 'Yun Lang! is a cult classic comedy based on the graphic novel by Carlo Vergara, with Music and Lyrics by Vincent A. DeJesus, and Stage Adaptation by Chris Martinez. 


The show deals with otherworldly proportions about what it means to be queer in the Philippines. Sometimes, in the end, it takes something out of this world to bring you the truth of who you are, the range of what you can do, and the love that's been right beside you this whole time.


The cast includes award-winning performer, singer, actress, entrepreneur, and social media influencer Kim Molina as Zsazsa; Phi Palmos, Adrian Lindayag, and Shaun Ocrisma as Ada; Joshua Cabiladas, Almond Bolante and Robert Bradley Hao as Didi;  Juan Carlos Galiano, Jude Matthew Servilla, and Elian Dominguez as Dodong; Kakki Teodoro, Anyah de Guzman as Queen Femina Suarestellar Baroux; Carlin Maximo, Jelena Evangelista, Dani Tan, and Heart Romeo as Amazonistas; Kyla Rivera as Aling Britney; and other members of the Ateneo Blue Repertory as ensemble.


Zsazsa Zaturnnah the Musical… ‘Yun Lang! is also composed of a talented pool of artistic team members with the direction of Philippine Theater Actors Guild (TAG) President Missy Maramara; musical direction of music composer and writer Vincent A. DeJesus; production and costumes design of Tata Tuviera; choreography of Franco Ramos; technical direction of Adriane Ungriano; lights design of D Cortezano; graphic design of Ralf Borja; and illustrations of Rio Reyes.


The show will run from March 17, 2023, to April 2, 2023, at the Doreen Fernandez Black Box Theater, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University.

Meet your Zsazsa!


Kim Molina


Award-winning performer, singer, actress, entrepreneur, and social media influencer, Kim Molina is definitely one of the most sought-after artists of her generation. Among all of her theater credentials, including one where she was part of the original cast members of another Carlo Vergara comic turned musical, Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady, as "Viva Moran", Kim is best known on stage as "Aileen" in PETA's hit musical Rak Of Aegis. This was also where she won her first Best Actress award from Gawad Buhay and where she was discovered for mainstream television and movies.


The Breakthrough Star of 2019 from her trending digital movie "Momol Nights" to her debut mainstream box office hit movie "Jowable", Kim was awarded Most Promising Female Star for Movies by the 51st Guillermo Mendoza Awards. She received her first Gawad Urian Best Actress nomination for her recent performance in the movie "law At Ako At Ang Ending", which can also be watched worldwide through the online streaming platform Netflix. She was also one of the chosen celebrity judges for the Philippine franchise of the worldwide hit Masked Singer for 2 consecutive seasons. Currently, Kim is working on a brand new television show, her first lead sitcom to be aired on TV5 starring alongside her on and offscreen partner, Jerald Napoles.


Before entering mainstream showbusiness, Kim represented the Saudi Arabian Filipino community to the World Championships of Performing Arts 2009 in Los Angeles California. She was a multi-medalist and won the title Senior Grand Champion Vocalist of The World.

Phi Palmos


Phi Palmos' experience spans from being an actor, singer, and advocate.


He played Jewel in Rak of Aegis; Rosanna in Mula sa Buwan; and Young Anthony/AJ in Ang Huling El Bimbo to outstanding and critical-acclaim. In 2014, he was included in Philippine Daily Inquirer's Best of Theater's List of Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Rak of Aegis. He was again included in that list in 2019 as Best Actor in a Play for Laro and as Best Actor in a Musical for Ang Huling El Bimbo. In 2022, for his performances in Mula Sa Buwan and The Reconciliation Dinner, he was cited as Best Featured Actor in a Musical and Best Actor in a Play respectively, by the Daily Tribune.


He has also appeared on TV most notably on ABS-CBN's On the Wings of Love (OTWOL), and the International Emmy-nominated Wansapanataym episode, Candy's Crush. In 2020, he was nominated for a FAMAS Best Supporting Actor for Zig Dulay's Akin Ang Korona and in 2021, he won the Best Supporting Performance in the 1st Pinoy Rebyu Awards given by the Society of Filipino Film Reviewers besting 47 actors for Law Fajardo's Kintsugi. He was last seen as Bok / Tita Ganda in the Netflix Originals Movie, Doll House directed by Marla Ancheta that trended in many countries worldwide.


As an advocate, Phi has traveled Asia, UK, and USA and continues to work on LGBT issues, youth involvement, and HIV and AIDS awareness up to present.

Adrian Lindayag


Adrian Lindayag left a career in fashion and events to pursue acting full-time in 2018 when he joined Ateneo Blue Repertory's RENT as Angel.


Since then, he has crafted a career in film, TV, and theater through supporting roles in PETA's "Rak of Aegis" ABS-CBN's "Kadenang Ginto" and "Marry Me, Marry You," TV5's "Oh My Dad," and Star Cinema's "An Inconvenient Love." His leading role in Dolly Dulu's "The Boy Foretold By The Stars" and the digital series "Love Beneath the Stars" has earned him an MMFF, Gawad Urian, Young Critics Circle, and Eddy Award nomination for Best Actor.


With an Instagram following of 71.7 thousand, this year, Adrian is set to star in ABS-CBN's "Linlang" and ANIMA Studio's "Marahuyo Project." Through acting, Adrian hopes to platform queer stories and creators, claim spaces and offer healing, and fight for equality and representation.


Since starring in "Next To Normal," "Zsazsa Zaturnnah the Musical… ‘Yun Lang!" marks his blueREP homecoming.


Shaun Ocrisma


Since 2010, Shaun Ocrisma has worked on various theatrical and film productions, where he has either worked as a performer, director, or production designer.


Some of his notable works include Dekada '70: Isang Musikal; FX's Choe Show; Tanghalang Ateneo's Lamon Babae; Ateneo Blue Repertory's Friction. Now, as a content creator and commercial model, Shaun has garnered a following of 157.4 thousand on TikTok, where he's also gained 3.7 million likes.


With his platform, he aims to create a safe, inclusive, and creative space through pieces that share truth in laughter

Meet your Didi!



 

Joshua Cabiladas is a theatre student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines


He debuted his professional theatre career in Sipat Lawin's LOVE-NOT YET A MUSICAL. He got his first lead role in TANGHALANG PILIPINO'S KLEPTOMANIACS where he played the role of TABO. He was also part of the ensemble of KUNG PAANO AKO NAGING LEADING LADY THE MUSICAL, and also played the role of ITAK-ATAK. He worked in PETA for almost half a year and played the role of TJ DOMINGO in WILLIAM. His last production with the theater company was AKO SI JOSEPHINE where he alternately played the role of FORTISSIMO and TENORCHUR. He was also part of the ensemble of REP's A LITTLE PRINCESS and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST REP'S RCT. FILM: ITI MAPUKPUKAW, BULA SA LANGIT, FANGIRL, BABAE SA SEPTIC TANK 3, ANG PANGARAP KONG HOLDAP, KAPATIRAN, PLOY, FLORANTE AT LAURA, AND MANY MORE.


He worked on TV SERIES such as THE SENIORS, and SUNTOK SA BUWAN.



Almond Bolante

is a Recording Artist and the pop counter-tenor of Acapellago, an internationally awarded contemporary a cappella group that made a name in Europe, Asia and the pacific. Acapellago is a 4-time Ani Ng Dangal Awardee for Music, a 5-time Awit Awards recipient for Best Vocal Arrangement and recently awarded as one of the SUDI (Artists of the decade) by the National Commission for Culture and Arts.


Performing with the group, he received his major solo award as Best Performer in CHVOCALS Golden A Cappella Awards 2018 held in Shenzhen, China.



Robert Bradly Hao Bradly (he/him/siya) is a Filipino artist and collaborator. Known as a director, Didi is his comeback to performing on stage.


His career began in Kuwait, where he trained at the British Academy of International Arts and was awarded Distinctions in both Acting and Musical Theatre in his London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) Examinations.


He earned his BFA in Theatre Arts from Ateneo de Manila, where he received the Loyola Schools Award for the Arts in Theater Directing. With financial assistance from the VPLS of Ateneo, he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Right after earning his degree, he served as the Merchandise Manager for Barefoot Theatre Collaborative's 2022 run of Mula sa Buwan. He is now the Theater and Events Officer of Areté.

Juan Carlos Galano


Juan Carlos Galano is known for Nelia (2021), Daddy's Gurl (2018), and Regal Studio Presents (2021). His notable commercial work also includes Manulife's Goodbye, Hello (2020), Globe's Jake is Typing (2021), Kwentong Jollibee Valentine's series: LDR (2021), and Kwentong Jollibee Valentine's series: 600 Days (2022). This is his first foray into musical theatre, and his first time working with Ateneo Blue Repertory.



Jude Matthew Servilla


Jude Matthew Servilla is a singer, songwriter, and actor.


He studied Theater and Arts in UP Diliman. In 2009, he reigned as the Birit Baby grand champion and won the People's Choice Award in Eat Bulaga and became a regular performer of the show until 2011. He started his acting career in films and commercials during his late teens, and later on, stage. Some of his notable theater productions are Putri Anak: Isang Bagong Komedya as Sultan Magnaye, Gantimpala Theatre Foundation's Totong Tipaklong as the titular role Totong Tipaklong and Dulaang UP's Ang Dressing Room as Aktres D. His recent film credits include: Bagyong Bheverlynne (Cinema One Originals) as Grego, Class Of 2018 as Wacky, Disconnection Notice (Cinemalaya 2019) as Paul, Death Of Nintendo (Berlinale 2020) as Badong, and Bola-Bola (IWantTFC) as Wilbert. Elian Dominguez


Elian Dominguez is a fourth year student taking up Environmental Science at Ateneo de Manila University. He joined the Ateneo Blue Repertory in his first year where he played La Cienega in Bring It On: The Musical (2019). He also joined f(r)iction (2021) as a sounds team member before becoming blueREP's Core Competency Projects Manager for Performance in the 30th Season and a Production Manager for Find Your Light (2022). As Dodong, Elian hopes to help show another layer to the definitions of masculinity and queerness. 




Meet your Queen Femina Suarestellar Baroux!


Kakki Teodoro


Kakki Teodoro won for Female Lead Performance at the 2019 Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards for the Arts, and Best Actress in a Play by the Philippine Daily Inquirer's Best of Theatre for starring in the one-woman play "Every Brilliant Thing" (Director: Jenny Jamora).


She is also known for her portrayal of Nimia for Ricky Lee & Vincent A. de Jesus' critically-acclaimed "HIMALA: Isang Musikal" (Director: Ed Lacson Jr) which won Outstanding Musical & Best Ensemble Performance in a Musical at the Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards 2018 and where she also received a nomination for Female Featured Performance in a Musical.


Her other local theater credits include: Ang Huling El Bimbo (Original Cast Ensemble), Tanghalang Pilipino's Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah (Amazonista Nora A & Dina B/Ensemble), Aurelio Sedisyoso (Naty), Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady (Computer), Rak of Aegis, (Ensemble), Rated PG as Rosalie; PAMANA as Trina), Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure (Tiger Lily) 


Internationally, Kakki was also the Lead Vocalist for High School Musical Live! (Opening Cast) and the Tarzan Singer for The Golden Mickeys from 2008-2009 at Hong Kong Disneyland.


As a TV Host, she headlined ABS-CBN HERO TV's My Hero Nation (2010 to 2016) and was also known as Ate Maya for BATIBOT on TV5 (2010 to 2013). Recent film and television credits include My Delivery Gurl (Alyssa) for Cignal TV, Ikaw At Ako At Ang Ending (Ditas) for Viva Films, and the new series K-Love (Peach) on Viu. She is also the CEO/Founder of Diet Diva Foods Phils Inc, Metro Manila's multi-awarded diet delivery service since 2012.



Anyah De Guzman


Anyah De Guzman (Femina, u/s Zsazsa) is a first-year AB Psychology student. She was the soprano in the grand opening quartet of Steinmetz Hall in Orlando, won and represented UST's Conservatory of Music at the 2021 New York Young Performer's Prize, and was a two-time nominee as Best Leading Actress in the Applause Awards Program. Raised between "Little Puerto Rico" and Orlando in Florida, US, she was trained at the Osceola County School for the Arts as a Dance Major and at the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center. Her favorite roles include Anita in West Side Story, Sarah Brown in Guys & Dolls, and Éponine in Les Misèrables. She has a soft spot for 90s R&B, heels dance, and anything mango-flavored. This is her first time doing an all-Filipino musical and would like to thank her cast members for bearing their "nosebleeds" for her, her family, and the big man upstairs.
