Alfred Vargas addresses TikToker who had an 'awakening' over the actor's sexy billboard 10 years ago

Trust public servant and actor  Alfred Vargas to give positive spin to what could be deemed by some people as awkward situation.

Few days ago, TikToker and member of LGBT community who goes by the name MCCARTNEY, posted a video in which he recalled seeing a billboard of Alfred in Guadalupe a decade ago. Put up by the company Walker, it showed the brand endorser in white underwear.

"Delicioso yum yum," said MCCARTNEY of the campaign material. His video has gathered steam on the platform, garnering at least a thousand reactions to his story.

It turned out Alfred got wind of the video.  While surprised that such a thing exists and it is making the rounds online, he addressed the situation admirably, even with humor.

"Pinanood ko yung buong video at napangiti ako at natuwa ako kasi meron pala akong ganung positive effect sa kanya.," said the councilor. "Happy ako kasi naging bahagi pala ako sa 'awakening' journey ng isang tao."

Alfred even complimented MCCARTNEY, saying he is "model-looking" and "may pagkaartistahin."

"So mataas pala ang standards niya sa looks ah? Pumasa ang WALKER Underwear Billboard ko (more than ten years ago) sa taste niya wow ah! Hahahahaha," Alfred said.

Then straightening up, Alfred delivered a message about what's important about the whole thing.

"Seriously, i’m happy for “mccartney” (yung tiktoker)," he began. "I hope maging inspiration din siya sa iba na still finding courage and support sa identity nila because whoever you are, kahit sino ka pa, you are someone to be loved, someone who can dream and reach your dreams, someone to be respected, and someone who can have the same opportunities in life just like everybody else."

As if that wasn't enough, Alfred turned particular into universal.

"Importante itong “awakening” para sa ating lahat because it’s part of loving ourselves.

"We can only truly love ourselves and others if we truly love who we really are." And what do you know: After thanking the TikToker, came Alfred's parting shot that, we bet, floored MCCARTNEY.

"Thanks for this, Mccartney. Nakakuha ka ba ng WALKER coffee table book ko dati? If not, try ko maghanap and bigay ko sayo personally signed copy."

Indeed, how can you not love Alfred Vargas, in underwear or not?
