Enzo Pineda happy over meatier role in timely movie 'Dok'

Award-winning actor Enzo Pineda is proud of all his projects but his upcoming movie "Dok" holds a special place in his heart.

At the premiere night held at Sta Lucia East Mall on April 3, he smiled saying that this movie won't see him baring flesh before the cameras.

Endowed with enviable physique honed by regular workouts, Enzo is one of local Tinseltown's most popular beefcakes, with producers and the fans taking notice.

"I play a doctor here, the title role" said Enzo, who also played a lawyer in another critically acclaimed movie. "I had to learn how doctor's deal with patients, including the stoic way they deliver not-so-good reports or diagnosis. "

A Covid survivor, the actor relates strongly to the subject matter of "Dok" and applauds the frontliners' heroic works especially in the time of pandemic. He advises the public to still practice safety protocols and health measures seeing that the pandemic is not yet over.

"Dok" (initial venture of Donya Productions) is the first Pinoy full length film to open in cinemas this 2022.

It tells the story of a lawyer with three children. Among her children, one was deemed a slow learner and was even recommended by teachers to be sent to a special school. The boy became the subject of bullying by his peers in his elementary days. His mother fought for and believed in him, of course. Later, the boy excelled in school and became an honor student. He begged his mother to pursue medical studies. He eventually became a specialist, a frontliner. Then, the mother got infected with Covid 19. Essentially, "Dok" shows how love triumphs amid the threat of death.   

The timely family drama also stars Mickey Ferriols, Rob Sy, LM Mercado, Aryan Akhtar, Maria de Ramos and Potchi Angeles.

"Dok" is produced and directed by Atty. Angie De Ramos.

The movie opens in select theaters on April 6, 2022. These include Sta. Lucia, SM MOA, SM Megamall, SM Fairview, SM Southmall, SM Dasmarinas, and SM Cebu.
