GARY Valenciano continues his advocacy to spread happiness and inspiration through prayer and music as he is set to perform in two international events this December – in Gawad Kalinga USA’s riSingTogether and in the upcoming Celebrate Christmas In Singapore (CCIS) holiday special that is set to premiere on YouTube on December 19, 8:00 p.m.
riSing Together is a virtual celebration of hope through music a world-class Filipino artists such as Ryan Cayabyab and The Ryan Cayabyab Singers, Kiana Valenciano, AJ Rafael, and Gary V lending their voices to inspire, encourage, and move people during this most precious season of giving as they lead people to rise up as one in spreading love and hope through the power of music.
CCIS, on the other hand, is an annual Christmas outreach event that began in 2004 by a small group of Christians who wanted to bring the true message of peace and joy of Christmas. In the past years, the event was organized as an 8 to 10 day event held in the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road. This annual event that is composed of carol singers and performances aims to celebrate the love, joy, and peace of Jesus and has become a hallmark Christmas celebration in Singapore.
In 2020, CCIS went digital because of the pandemic and was broadcast on YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, garnering 2.5 million in consolidated views across all three platforms with performances by The Crosby Family and GENTRI among many other international artists.
Both CCIS and Gary V share the same aspiration to spread the message of hope before a global audience while encouraging everybody to make a difference in another person’s life especially today where the threat of the global health crisis threatens to keep people apart.
As a legendary icon, Gary V never ceased to spread his message of hope through his craft as one of the industry’s most prolific singer-songwriter with the release of his latest inspirational song “Make Us Whole Again” while being the very first Philippine Ambassador of the US-based Pray.com mobile app and website, which now has over 1.5 million downloads in the Philippines since it was launched in the country last September 202. It is only fitting for Gary V to perform “Make Us Whole Again” – a song that has inspired millions – in this year’s CCIS event as the only artist who will be representing the Philippines. He first performed the song at the USA National Day of Prayer on May 6 which had US President Joseph Biden and former US Vice President Michael Pence as guest speakers.
“The spirit of Christmas is really anchored on the birth of Jesus Christ and the hope that it brings to everyone,” says Gary V. “I am honored and excited to be a part of two musical events that promote unity, love, and hope in a time when compassion and faith are most needed if we are to survive the challenges that we face today. Prayer is important above all else as we express our gratitude to God for the blessings He showers to us every day.”
Valenciano has victoriously weathered so many health challenges including a 42-year battle with Type 1 diabetes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, a cardiac double bypass, kidney cancer, knee surgeries, and dengue fever.
riSing Together happens on December 11 at 4pm Pacific Time / 6pm Central / 7pm Eastern Time / December 12 8am Philippine Standard Time.
