Theirs is a classic case of love in the time of pandemic. Or to be more precise, love in the time of locked-in shoot during the pandemic.
Talks have it that actors Edu Manzano and Cherry Pie Picache have found love in the most unexpected place - the locked-in shoot of their ongoing TV series, "Marry You, Marry Me." Manzano and Picache have had previous unsuccessful relationships, but have remained hopeful that they will find someone who they can live and grow old with.
Manzano, who recently turned 66, has three grown up children: Luis ( with actress politician Vilma Santos); and two with former model Rina Samson, Enzo and Adi. Edu was once married to actress Maricel Soriano but the union was short-lived. He also had a beautiful relationship with broadcast journalist Pinky Webb for many years.
Meanwhile, Picache, 51, has a son with television cinematographer and tennis enthusiast Gary Tria. Nio, now 19, and a tennis champion in his age group, is also trying out show business and is now a member of the Squad Plus group.
Perhaps it is destiny that the two got closer during the new normal set up for television and filmmaking these days. Even if they are not playing husband and wife in the romantic comedy series of Dreamscape Entertainment, both actors were drawn to each other and sparks flew every time they are together on the set.
If the buzz is true, and we think it is because of so many witnesses that refuse to be named and quoted, then we are truly happy for both of them. They are both well loved by their peers and co-workers. Both are highly esteemed and respected. And both are stable financially, having the wisdom to save for more than the basic things they need.
Both are dog lovers, too. Manzano is fond of Golden Retrievers, and Picache now has two dogs: a Bichon Frise and a Poodle.
“Their actions are obvious, and they manifest their love for each other unabashedly, “ said one of the actors that work with them in this series. Another production person whispered to us, “During the few times that our set was hit by the dreaded virus, Edu and Pie looked after each other in many special ways.” Another young actress shared, “We are always so kilig when we see them so sweet on the set.”
We wish both Edu and Cherry Pie the best in this new romantic adventure.
