Alden Richards continues the search for the Bida Kid on ‘Centerstage’

GMA Network’s world-class singing competition for kids ‘Centerstage’ returns with a bang this Sunday, February 7, with Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards all set to take the talented kids and viewers to an entertaining ride along with co-host Kapuso comedian Betong Sumaya and the judges, Concert Queen and media icon Pops Fernandez, International Stage Performer and Soul Diva Aicelle Santos, and renowned musical director Mel Villena.
Picking up where they left off when the pandemic restrictions started, the aspiring kiddie performers will showcase their jaw-dropping and adorable talents and personalities once again for the chance to step on the center stage. Due to the current quarantine restrictions and to ensure the safety of everyone, there will still be no live audience and the contestants’ performances will be shot in the comfort of their own homes with the help of the program’s production team, in strict adherence to current guidelines and protocol.
Alden can’t wait to reunite with the kids and looks forward to witness how they will continue their journey, “Siyempre being with the kids, as the host, I get to know their stories, what drives them to showcase their talents on TV. Ang sarap din kasing makarinig ng iba’t ibang story ng mga bata kasi naaalala ko dati ‘yung journey ko noong nagsisimula ako. I share the same sentiments and the same dreams with them when I was young.”
Likewise, Betong shared what he missed the most hosting the show and teased the fans, “Pinaka-namimiss ko siyempre ‘yung kids na kasali sa ating show kasi ako talaga ‘yung kasama ng mga magulang and guardians nila. Doon talaga mas nabibigyang-buhay, mas nalalaman natin ‘yung pinagdadaanan ng mga kids. We’re looking forward sa mga bagong magiging finalists dito sa Centerstage, kung paano bibirit at gugulatin na naman tayong lahat na mga Kapuso pag napanood natin sila. Mas pinabongga, mas pinaghandaan, maraming pasabog po talaga ang Centerstage!”
As for the judges, they are expecting nothing but the best from the young artists. Pops expressed her eagerness to come back on the judges’ panel, “We are all excited to be back in Centerstage!!! Centerstage has found ways to continue the fun and the excitement of the show. Can't wait to see our super talented kids again.”
Aicelle, on the other hand, feels ecstatic to see the kids’ dreams come to life, “To mount a show involving kids in this time of COVID is such a great deal. Mahirap gawin but we'll do so to give young talents a chance to be heard and fulfill their dreams! It'll be the same fun but more exciting show! Lalong gumaling ang mga bata! Kaabang-abang!” Meanwhile, Direk Mel teases the viewers of what’s to come, “The viewers should expect the very best of our musically gifted youth that's about to come out in the next couple of weeks. The lockdown that happened in March only delayed, what I believe, exciting things that would have unfolded then. That, plus the new platform GMA will be using will deliver one fantastic showcase for our television audience, including myself and fellow judges, as well!”
A unique viewing experience awaits the audience as the competition progresses. Make sure to stay tuned! Don’t miss the return of ‘Centerstage’ this Sunday, February 7, 7:40 PM on GMA-7. Viewers abroad can also watch via GMA's flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. For the program guide, visit www.gmapinoytv.com.
