Successful 'That Kind of Love' premiere night bodes well for BarDa

Barbie Forteza and David Licauco known together as BarDa

Fans of Barbie Forteza and David Licauco (shipped as a love team that goes by the portmanteau "BarDa") can hardly wait for July 10 when the first movie of their idols "That Kind Of Love" opens in cinemas nationwide.

The excitement is not only fueled by allegiance but by good reviews from those who attended the premiere night of the movie held recently at SM Megamall.

First of all, it's clear that GMA Network is throwing full support behind BarDa that was formed from their hit TV series "Maria Clara at Ibarra." The red carpet on premiere night was graced by a mix of rising and stellar Kapuso celebrities; from Alice Dixson, Rabiya Matteo and Michelle Dee to Gabbi Garcia and Kelvin Miranda.

It turns out that even bigger than BarDa that night was the story of "That Kind of Love." A rom-com through and through, moviegoers will especially enjoy the second part of the story during which Barbie and David's acting prowess comes to fore. The thing about them is that the chemistry is so effortless yet as magical as the biggest KDrama idols there are. No wonder people tend to forget both are "taken" and that what unravels onscreen is product of good job no less.

This is the reason many are willing to bet "That Kind of Love" will do well at the box-office starting Wednesday. It also won't come as a surprise if the two gets to do more projects together.

In "That Kind of Love," the journey of the characters they play reminds that sometimes, love finds us in the most unexpected ways; changing us to grow and evolve in ways we never imagined.

Barbie plays dating coach and psychologist named Milagros. She meets CEO Adam (played by David) by chance and the encounter sparks a series of events that challenge belief in his own perfection even as Mila confronts her own doubts about the complexities of romantic love. As the story unfolds, Mila and Adam stand testament to the transformative power of love and understanding.

The movie is a Spotlight Entry and Awardee at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival in Japan.

"That Kind of Love" is directed by Catherine 'CC' O. Camarillo. Produced by Pocket Media Productions, Incorporation and Pocket Media Films in cooperation with Happy Infinite Productions, Incorporation. Released and distributed by Regal Entertainment. Opens in cinemas nationwide on July 10. Special thanks to Digital Out Of Home, Inc.

The movie has billboards in seven prime and prominent spots and locations all over EDSA, C5, Greenhills, etc
